Driving Lessons

Book Online and Save Money

Before we can book your driving lesson we need to know where you are based.

Our Driving Lessons

Our lessons are a full one hour and we recommend that you take your lessons in blocks of 2 hours at a time, if possible. In these two hours your instructor can cover a lot more ground and keep you from needing to recap and 'warm up' to a minimum. We find that our pupils learn quicker and pass with fewer lessons if they have two hours at a time.

Your instructor will talk you through each lesson so that you understand what you will be covering in that lesson and how it fits into your overall training schedule, and won't 'drive about until you get the hang of it'. The structure of your lesson will ensure maximum efficiency from your lessons and prepare you for the standard required to pass the test.

Subjects will be covered in a logical order, for example, we will not teach you to go backwards until we are satisfied you have mastered going forwards! This will help build your confidence week to week.

Driving Courses Herefordshire, Hereford & Leominster

At Gt School of Motoring we offer driving courses to fit in and around your lifestyle. If you are in a rush to pass your driving test we can put together a driving course which allows you to have as many driving lessons possible in a short amount of time. Alternatively if you have limited availability or would like to learn in multiple locations our driving courses can accommodate this also.

Intensive Driving Course?

Some people do not wish to wait any longer than necessary to pass their Driving Test and believe that an intensive driving course is a good idea. In our opinion, it is far better and more economical to spread your driving lessons over a few weeks rather than one. We recommend that you have no more than 2 hours of driving lessons a day. Any experienced driver will tell you that after driving solidly for 2 hours they feel tired, stiff and mentally drained. An intensive driving course will require you to learn to drive in this condition - bear in mind you are trying to learn a new skill as well.

We also offer driving instructor training.

How many lessons will you need?

As all pupils are different and learn at different rates this is a difficult question to answer. The Driving Standards Agency give the guideline, that a learner may require between 1 to 2 hours of tuition for each year of there age, for example a 17 year old would be looking at about 25 hours of tuition. This varies depending on the amount of practice the pupil can do outside of lessons, the consistency of lessons and of course, the aptitude of the pupil. You will be ready for test when you can truthfully say that you would be confident and competent to drive in any traffic situations in any town without anybody helping you.
