Driving Instructors Training

Herefordshire, Hereford & Leominster

There are three main modules to our driving instructor training:

Part 1 The Theory Test - During your study for Part 1 you will attend 4 practical driving instructor training sessions - 3 in-car each one lasting 2 hours:

Part 2 Test of Driving Ability - We provide you with 10 hours in-car tuition designed to bring your own driving up to the standard required to pass Part 2, plus a comprehensive manual covering the whole syllabus. Not only do we teach you the way you should drive but also ensure you understand why you should drive this way. This will help you develop your fault identification, analysis and remedial action skills (known as the core competencies) so vital for the Part 3 exam.

Part 3 Test of Instructional Ability - We provide you with 40 hours in-car one to one tuition to teach you how to instruct pupils.

Once you pass Part 3 you are then fully qualified and can apply to enter the register of ADI’s and can then claim to be a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor - and put the letters DSA ADI (Cars) after your name!

Our driving instructors are second to non. For personalised one-to-one instructor training come to GT School of Motoring.

After you become a driving instructor

You can decide what hours you work and when. You can decide whether you work full or part time to fit in with family commitments. You may also want to work less and enjoy more leisure time, or work more and enjoy a much higher income level - the choice is yours.

Approved Driving Instructors

Have a life long skill, need never be made redundant or sacked, and never need to ask the boss for a day off again.

On qualifying, we help our newly passed driving instructors to find a position with a driving school, if that is what you want, or help you set up your own school.

Being a driving instructor

Is a career that provides job security and great satisfaction – you will not only be helping people pass their tests you will be giving them a life-changing skill. The Road Traffic Act is always being monitored ensuring that the learner driver test is an adequate judge of skill for driving in ever increasing traffic conditions – this leads to a more demanding driving test, requiring more training. There is also increased pressure on companies to give additional training to their fleet drivers – all good business opportunities for the ADI.

Driving instructor training with GT

Is professional, friendly but fun. We help keep you relaxed during your training, and we do not put you in a classroom with dozens of other trainees and tell you to get on with it. The vast majority of your driving instructor training is done in the best place to learn the trade – the car - and on a one to one basis with just you and your trainer - who specialises in driving instructor training; not just a standard ADI. Continuity and motivation is key for your success, but you do not want to do your training so quickly that you have no hope of passing the exams. You cannot learn to be a driving instructor on a one week course – this style of training is not recommended by the Driving Standards Agency. You are unique and we treat you as such, designing the course around your requirements.
